Key specifications and prerequisites for a rooftop solar for homes installation:

🎯

Who it suits

Homeowners with their own roof (flat RCC or sloped), an electricity bill above ₹1,500/month, and a sanctioned load of at least 1 kW.

⚡

Typical system capacity

1 kW to 10 kW. A 3 kW system covers most 2–3 BHK homes with ₹2,000–₹4,000 monthly bills.

📐

Space & roof needs

About 100 sq ft of shade-free roof per kW. Flat RCC roofs work best. Sloped tin or tile roofs also work with different mounting.

Step-By-Step

What actually happens from start to finish

Here is our transparent 5-step roadmap. No surprises or unaccounted delays.

1

Roof survey

Our technician visits, measures the roof and checks for shade and structure strength.

2

Design & quote

We size the system to your bill and roof, pick the right panel and inverter, and give you a written quote.

3

Approvals & paperwork

We apply for net metering with your DISCOM (PVVNL, MVVNL, PuVVNL, DVVNL or KESCo) and register on the PM Surya Ghar portal.

4

Installation

Our crew installs panels, inverter, wiring and earthing. Most home installs finish in 2–4 days.

5

Inspection & commissioning

The DISCOM inspects the system, installs the bi-directional net meter, and your system goes live. Subsidy is credited to your bank via DBT.

Clear Answers

Common questions about Rooftop Solar for Homes

Everything you need to know about DISCOM approvals, net metering, subsidies, and maintenance.

You can receive up to ₹1,08,000 in total government subsidies for a 3 kW or larger residential rooftop solar system in Uttar Pradesh. This includes up to ₹78,000 from the Central Government under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW, and ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW) plus up to ₹30,000 state top-up subsidy from the Uttar Pradesh state government (UP NEDA). Subsidies are credited directly into your Aadhaar-linked bank account via DBT after DISCOM inspection and commissioning.

Your old meter is replaced with a bi-directional net meter. When your panels produce more than you use (usually during the day), the extra units go to the grid and are credited to your account. At the end of each billing cycle, you pay only for the net units consumed. Any surplus at the end of the financial year is bought by UPPCL at the APPC rate (around ₹3–3.60 per unit).

Yes, but output drops — roughly 30–50% less on overcast days. Annual generation accounts for this. Your system is sized to cover your yearly usage, not just sunny-day peaks.

We use non-penetrating clamps on RCC roofs where possible. Where we do drill, we seal every hole with waterproof compounds. If a leak happens because of our work, we fix it at no extra cost.

Every 2–4 weeks in dusty areas. Just rinse with plain water — no soap or harsh chemicals. We can include cleaning in an AMC if you prefer.
